Four of the biggest names in Australian women’s basketball are headed to Kalgoorlie-Boulder next month for instructional clinics and a leadership workshop as part of the national She Hoops Play Our Way Program.
The star-studded group of Natalie Hurst, Ally Wilson, Amy Atwell, and Tess Madgen will headline two girls’ clinics at Niels Hansen Stadium on April 16 — the first of which will be from 3.50pm-5.30pm for youngsters aged eight to 11 years of age.
A session for girls aged 12 and over will run from 5pm-6.30pm.
It will be followed by a leadership workshop from 7pm-9pm for those aged 16 and over.
Hurst was named to the Australian team for the first time in 2009 and later served as head coach for the WNBL’s Adelaide Lightning.
Wilson debuted for the Lightning in 2010, and last month signed a training camp deal with the WNBA’s Chicago Sky.
Perth-born Atwell is no stranger to the Goldfields after she last year held similar sessions on behalf of the Perth Lynx.
She was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks in the third round of the 2022 WNBA draft, when she made the opening-night roster.
Madgen played for Australia at two Olympics before retiring from international ranks late last year.
