‘Freak of nature’: Why Wallabies teammates aren’t among the Tupou doubters
@Source: brisbanetimes.com.au
Will Taniela Tupou make the Wallabies team to play against the British and Irish Lions?
Rewind just a year ago and that’s a question few could have imagined being possible on the eve of the blockbuster Lions series.
With immense power and the dimensions of a tank, 150kg tighthead prop Tupou has been one of the Wallabies’ highest profile and most destructive stars during the past five years.
But struggling under the weight of expectation of a $1.2 million salary, a move to the Waratahs and several years of calf, Achilles and hamstring injuries, Tupou this year turned in his poorest Super Rugby season.
