TV host Gabby Logan had hoped her daughter Lois would take up tennis instead of pursuing a career in showjumping. Lois Logan , 19, child of renowned gymnast and BBC personality Gabby Logan and ex-Scottish rugby union player Kenny Logan , has spoken about discussions she had with her parents about her sporting career. Lois, whose brother is a professional rugby player opened up about her sporting career in an interview with Hello! magazine in which she reflected on her career to date. She said: "My mum wanted me to be a tennis player. She was like: 'I really, really tried, but you didn't want to'. Now I say to her: 'I wish you'd pushed me harder to do tennis, because I could have been a really good player by now.'". Despite this, it seems horses have always held a special place in Lois' life. Her love for the animals was likely inspired by her mum, particularly during their early days in Buckinghamshire when local entertainment options were scarce, reports Wales Online . Remembering growing up in Buckinghamshire, she said: "We had no friends, we didn't know the area, we didn't have anything to do at the weekend. She said: 'You can learn to play chess, ballroom dance, or ride a horse." Lois is about to compete in the imminent Markel Magnolia Cup at the Qatar Goodwood Festival, just a stone's throw from the celebrated motor racing circuit at Goodwood. Balancing rigorous training with her academic responsibilities has been demanding for Lois, who is currently juggling her preparations for the race with studying geography at Loughborough University. Lois has taken the advice of her famous mother, but has also discussed matters with her father who has introduced her to senior royals such as Zara Tindall and Princess Anne . Lois recounted her encounters, she recalled: "Zara is lovely; we talk about horses....[Princess Anne] really likes my dad; he's done a lot for her charities." While Zara and Lois bond over their passion for equestrian pursuits, it was at one particular equine event that Zara shared a humorous tale of frustration with Mike Tindall . At an auction, Mike made an impulsive bid on the last horse. Speaking to Closer magazine about the incident, Zara said: "He'd had a few beers. It was the last lot of the night, Mikey put his hand up and that was it. He was left buying this horse for £12,000." The purchase of Monbeg Dude by Mike and a group of friends turned out to be a stroke of luck as the horse triumphed unexpectedly, winning the Welsh Grand National and placing third in the Grand National, much to Zara's amazement. Zara concluded: "Annoyingly, it did not backfire. He got three mates involved and the horse ended up winning the Welsh Grand National and came third in the Grand National. I was so annoyed." Gabby Logan is set to anchor BBC One's presentation of the England v Sweden match in the Women's UEFA Euro 2025. The broadcast will commence tonight (Thursday, July 17) at 7pm.
