Gabby Logan's net worth, realisation about sports star husband, new BBC job after Euros

Gabby Logan is poised to host the eagerly awaited Women's Euro 2025 final between England and Spain this Sunday. The Lionesses secured their place in the St. Jakob-Park showdown with a thrilling last-gasp 2-1 victory over Italy on Tuesday. Italy's Barbara Bonansea was the first to find the back of the net, but Michelle Agyemang's equaliser took the match into extra time. Chloe Kelly then converted a rebound from her own missed penalty to clinch the win for England. Spain booked their spot in the final with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Germany on Wednesday. Logan will be at the helm of the BBC's coverage as the Lionesses aim to retain their title won three years ago. But what more do we know about the iconic presenter, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes? Wales Online breaks it down... Since embarking on her broadcasting journey in 1992, Logan has held numerous high-profile roles and covered a host of major events across various networks. She joined Sky Sports in 1996, making her mark in an industry largely dominated by men, and quickly became a familiar face on British television. In 2004, she was chosen to present Sport Relief and subsequently became a permanent fixture at the BBC . Over the years, the 52-year-old has hosted her own morning show on BBC Radio 5 Live, appeared on Final Score, Inside Sport, the Invictus Games, MOTD Six Nations and The One Show, and had the honour of covering the 2022 World Cup and 2024 Olympics in Paris. Logan's career achievements have reportedly amassed her a considerable wealth of approximately £4million, positioning her as the top female earner in sports journalism. According to Sportcasting via SPORTbible, Logan also featured seventh on the list of Britain's highest-paid sports presenters and pundits last year, with earnings of £210,000. With Gary Lineker announcing his departure from Match of the Day after the 2024/25 Premier League season, the BBC has been planning for the future of its premier football highlights programme. Instead of appointing a single successor to Lineker, who had been at the forefront since 1999, the corporation has opted for a trio of talent. Starting from 2025/26, Logan will be joining forces with Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates to lead Match of the Day. Discussing the upcoming changes, Logan said: "I think what's interesting is that although we're sharing the role, we won't actually be working together on Match of the Day. "It's really great to share it because we bring different experiences and different interests within the game. We bring different ways of broadcasting and that will mean our pundits are kept on their toes and share different kinds of analysis." The new arrangement will see Logan, Chapman and Cates divide presenting responsibilities across Match of the Day, MOTD 2 and MOTD: Champions League, marking the first occasion that the show will be hosted by a trio of presenters. Beyond the television cameras, Logan has been wed to rugby union legend Kenny Logan since 2001, after the pair began their romance following a chance encounter in a Chelsea bar. Throughout his playing days as a winger, Kenny secured three English Premiership titles with Wasps RFC alongside a Scottish Premiership crown with Stirling County. He also pulled on the Scotland jersey 70 times, accumulating 220 points before hanging up his boots in 2004. The couple became parents to twins in 2005, welcoming Reuben and Lois into the world. Reuben has since chosen to emulate his father's rugby union path, with the 19-year-old launching his professional journey as a flanker through Wasps' academy system in 2023. A switch to Northampton Saints followed within the same year, where he continues to develop his skills, though he spent last season gaining experience on loan with Cambridge. Nevertheless, it seems the Scotland U20 international will be relocating once again before the 2025/26 campaign, after Sale Sharks confirmed they had secured his signature back in April. Discussing the transfer, he said: "This is a great opportunity for me to play with and learn from some fantastic coaches and players – like the Curry brothers – who play in my position." With Reuben and Lois all grown up, Gabby has however recently confessed that she has noticed Kenny's "grumpy" side. Speaking on the We're Not Getting Any Younger podcast, she said: "You really notice when your partner's off and not in a great mood, because before there was too much going on. "He was not feeling great yesterday and he came back from somewhere and he was a bit grumpy, even though I had made a really nice dinner. I thought, I wouldn't have noticed that before because I'd have been too busy dealing with kids issues, so you've got to be quite receptive and kind of not take it personally."
