Zagreb, July 11 (QNA) - The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) affirmed the importance of enhancing strategic cooperation and partnership between its member states and countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea, in a way that contributes to solidifying regional security and stability and advancing development and shared prosperity for both sides.
This came during the participation of Secretary-General of the GCC Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi in a high-level panel discussion on exploring prospects of cooperation between Mediterranean countries and global and regional organizations, held as part of the Dubrovnik Forum 2025 hosted by Croatia in the city of Dubrovnik on Jul. 11-12.
During his remarks, Albudaiwi stated that the strategic location of GCC countries, their regional and global standing, their credibility on the international stage, their growing economic power, and their pivotal role in ensuring global energy security all serve as fundamental pillars for building effective and integrated partnerships with Mediterranean nations.
He added that the GCC, through these foundations, is a reliable and influential partner capable of actively contributing to efforts aimed at achieving stability and sustainable development in the Mediterranean region and beyond.
The Secretary-General further emphasized the Council's keenness to continue strengthening dialogue and cooperation with various regional and international partners, in a manner that serves common interests and promotes global security and peace. (QNA)
