Hawks vs. Magic Player Props, ATS Picks: How To Bet Tuesday's Play-In Game
@Source: newsweek.com
The Play-In Tournament to fill out the 2025 NBA Playoff field begins on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET with a matchup between the Hawks (8) and Magic (7) at the Kia Center in Orlando.These teams met four times in the regular season, splitting those matchups 2-2, including a pair of clashes that took place during the final week of the regular season.The Magic suffered two key injuries midway through the season, losing F Mo Wagner to a torn ACL in January before PG Jalen Suggs was sidelined with a season-ending quad injury in March.Injuries have also been a factor for the Hawks this year, as Jalen Johnson, Clint Capela and Larry Nance Jr. are all unavailable tonight.Hawks vs. Magic Betting Odds: Spread, ML, Total

Best Hawks vs. Magic Player Prop BetTrae Young 11+ Assists (+115 at DraftKings) -- 1 unitYoung, who easily led the league in assists per game at 11.6 apg during the regular season, did not carve up the Magic the way he did just about everyone else on Atlanta's schedule this year.In fact, he finished with "just" 10, 6 and 8 assists in three meetings with Orlando (we said "just" there because on the season, Young had at least 11 assists in 44 of 76 starts).But Young, who missed his team's regular-season finale vs. the Magic last Sunday, did have his best game of the year vs. Orlando the last time the Southeast Division rivals met back on April 8. He finished with 28 points and 10 assists, and his advanced metrics -- including an assist rate of 48.6 on a usage rate of 29.0 -- in that contest were also encouraging.As long as he's healthy tonight -- he's listed as probable (Achilles) -- he should have plenty of opportunities to create for his teammates after posting an assist rate of over 40 percent in each of his last 11 games of the year.It's an obvious understatement to say that Young will draw a different defensive strategy than his backup, Keaton Wallace, did in Sunday's Atlanta vs. Orlando matchup. Still, it's encouraging for Young's assists prop that Wallace was able to record 15 (!) dimes against the Magic just two days ago.Atlanta's 3-point shooting might be what decides whether this prop cashes. There's good news on that front, though: as a team, the Hawks have shot at least 38 percent from 3-point land in four of their last five games, including a 17-for-40 afternoon from outside vs. the Magic on Sunday.Hawks vs. Magic Prediction, Best BetsIn many ways, this feels like a coin flip, which makes it a bit puzzling to see Orlando favored by 6 points. Predicting play-in games is always tricky, but give me the Hawks to keep this one close in a game that will probably be decided by who makes more plays in the final minutes: Trae Young or Paolo Banchero. So let's go with the Magic to advance at home, but barely.Hawks vs. Magic Best Bets:
Hawks +6 (-110 at DraftKings, FanDuel) -- 0.5 units
