Here's The Full 'Confirmed' List Of Celebrity Traitors – With Some Exciting New Names
@Source: huffingtonpost.co.uk
Celebs like Kate Garraway, Bob Mortimer, and, of course, Stephen Fry have long been pipped as likely members of the upcoming UK Celebrity Traitors.
And today, The Sun has published a list of names they say have been “exclusively revealed” to them as filming begins today.
“The team making the show are expecting it to be quite different to the regular version because the celebrities will be less motivated by the prize fund but care far more about how they come across,” The Mirror says a “source” confirmed.
But before we share the updated list, though, a word of caution.
Having asked the BBC, who will run Celebrity Traitors UK, what they thought of the selection, a spokesperson told HuffPost UK:
1) Kate Garraway
In March, The Sun suggested Kate had signed a contract for the first UK version of the spin-off.
She has previously starred in Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity.
2) Stephen Fry
The show’s host Claudia Winkleman has been gunning for Stephen Fry to appear on the celebrity version for ages.
The Sun claimed Stephen had “agreed” to take part in the show months ago; the star himself told Lorraine Kelly that he sees The Traitors not as a show, “but a game, and I do like games. So should I be asked, who knows?”
3) Charlotte Church
The Mirror said they were sure Charlotte Church would appear on the show back in April.
The former child star and current owner of retreat The Dreamingpreviously told BBC Radio 3 she’s trying to “reclaim her creativity” after an early life in the spotlight.
4) Bob Mortimer
The comedian who recently appeared on Prime Video’s Last One Laughing had previously said Celebrity Traitors is “the only show of its kind on TV that I would agree to get involved with”.
“Count me in,” he continued.
5) Jonathan Ross
Soon after the Celebrity Traitors was announced, The Sun alleged Ross had been in talks about the show.
It would signal the end of a long break from the BBC after Ross’ Sachs-gate scandal of 2008.
6) Alan Carr
The Interior Design Masters co-host was listed as a likely participant by The Mirror months ago.
The Sun also claimed in November that the comic and presenter was in “final talks” with the show.
7) Nick Mohammed
The Ted Lasso star who, like Bob Mortimer, recently appeared on Last One Laughing, was previously listed by The Sun.
The tabloid claimed the star would be “in it to win it.”
8) Joe Wilkinson
Joe is the third person on the reported list who’s been on Amazon’s Last One Laughing.
The comedian was first said to be taking part in the show by The Sun.
9) Joe Marler
The Sun said the rugby player was set to appear on the show months ago.
Reportedly, a “source” said he’s a “huge fan” of the show and is “ready for a fresh challenge.”
10) Tom Daley
Once again, The Sun called the former Olympian diver’s appearance on the list back in November.
11) Niko Omilana
The first entrant to this list who had not been previously rumoured to be on the show, The Mirror claims YouTuber and former viral mocker of Rishi Sunak, Niko, is likely to be a “sure hit with younger viewers.”
His moment with the former PM is far from his only political prank.
12) Mark Bonnar
Another fresh addition, Shetland actor Mark (whose role in Line Of Duty may well be reprised soon) is also reportedly bound for the iconic castle.
13) Lucy Beaumont
Lucy, who previously co-hosted shows Meet The Richardsons and Jon And Lucy’s Odd Couples with ex-husband Jon Richardson, is also said to appear on the show.
The Sun had previously suggested the comedian, a “massive fan” of the show, had been cast.
14) Paloma Faith
Back to older news, The Mirror claimed the star would appear on the show back in October.
A “source” told the publication the singer “should be able to spot people bluffing a mile off”.
15) Cat Burns
Gifted musician and Traitors “superfan” Cat Burns had been mentioned by The Sun as a potential Celebrity Traitor, a suggestion echoed in today’s report.
The Mirror claims the TikTok-viral artist is hoped to draw a younger crowd.
16) Celia Imrie
The list also mentions Celia Imrie, an actor who’s previously starred in Doctor Who, Bridget Jones’ Diary, and Mamma Mia!, as a cast member.
She had previously been named as a potential cast member by The Sun.
17) Tameka Empson
The EastEnders star is tipped as an upcoming Celebrity Traitors cast member, too.
The publication asks: “Tameka will no doubt have fans cracking up... but will her acting career help her keep her cards close to her chest?”
18) Ruth Codd
Ruth, who played Anya in Netflix’s The Midnight Club, is another new rumoured cast member.
She is set to appear in a new How To Train Your Dragon movie this year.
19) David Olusoga
The Bafta Special Award-winning filmmaker, author, and historian has also been awarded an OBE.
Only time will tell if he’ll win reality telly’s biggest accolade, too...
20) Clare Balding
In October last year, The Sun reported that Clare had agreed to appear in the celeb version of The Traitors.
That’s despite turning down “several” reality TV offers previously, they added.
