Opening up to Closer Magazine about offloading the property, she reflected: "We had a school there for a bit and a studio. "When it is used by the community, it makes sense, but when it is not used, it doesn't... It was very fairy-tale-like and then it gets into this dark, twisted fairy tale." Charlotte , who is set to participate in the first series of Celebrity Traitors on BBC One later this year, is currently revamping another mansion in Wales to turn it into a wellness retreat. She confessed to having poured "pretty much" all her life savings into the venture, which she acquired in 2021 for £1.5 million. Previously, she even acknowledged the potential financial peril she faced because of the daunting renovation expenses. Upon turning 18, Charlotte gained access to her millions and lived a lavish lifestyle, once telling reporters she wanted a £1m encrusted ruby bra for her birthday. Along with a car and holidays with boyfriends and friends, Charlotte was said to ve 'very generious'. In subsequent years, Charlotte was frequently photographed while enjoying Champagne and appeared to doze off in pubs on various occasions. In 2005, while in a relationship with ex-Welsh rugby ace Gavin Henson, she invested in a Cardiff property for an estimated £500,000, later selling it for a cool £900,000. Together, Charlotte and Gavin, who parted ways in 2010, bought a grand estate on 20 acres in the Vale of Glamorgan, now valued at about £2.5 million. At the peak of their fame, they had a £800,000 yacht. Wales Online covered that Charlotte purchased a five-bedroom house for Gavin in 2013, ensuring he resided closer to their offspring Ruby and Dexter. But after performing to the likes of presidents and royalty, by 2014, Charlotte seemed to encounter a lull in her career. Her fortune was listed at £11m in the Sunday Times Rich List during that period. Charlotte voiced her financial worries in the documentary 'Charlotte Church: In Her Own Voice', stating: "I will have to work for the rest of my life, not because I want to but because I have to. "The tax man is looking at my accounts wondering where I'm hiding all my money." In a recent interview with Stylist, Charlotte Church revealed that her lavish spending habits are the reason she needs to keep working. She confessed: "I haven't got a lot of money. I've got enough to be comfortable if I was reasonable for the rest of my life. "But I'm not reasonable, so I will have to find a way to sustain my lifestyle."
