Two National Women’s Soccer League clubs on opposite sides of the country get set to meet on the pitch on Friday night as the Seattle Reign plays host to the Washington Spirit. The Spirit head into Friday night with points in five of their last seven league matches. The club saw itself snag a point in a wild 3-3 draw against the Utah Royals last Saturday. Washington has seen itself have some defensive struggles over the last little while, giving up three goals or more to Gotham FC and Angel City over the past month. The Reign have been playing much more low-scoring affairs in recent weeks. Each of the team’s last six matches has seen two goals or less scorer, including their 1-0 win over Racing Louisville last Saturday. Seattle enters Friday sixth in the NWSL, two points back of the Spirit who are in fifth.
