More than 250 tonnes of sand has been shipped into a Staffordshire farm for a new beach this summer. There are relaxing deck chairs to soak up the sun whilst the children build sandcastles and little ones splash around in the toddler pool. It's also home to the UK’s longest outdoor Mega Slide Mountain . And a new wooden assault course is also being planned for the summer holidays, complete with balance beams, bridges and 18ft Eagle tower and slide. Tom Robinson, who runs the attraction with his brother Ivor, said: "Being outside has so many health benefits for children with the sea, sand and laughter of seaside holidays creating cherished memories for many families. "Burton is about as far away from the seaside as you can get in the UK, so we wanted to help families enjoy the thrills and enjoyment of being at the beach without the long car journey to get there. "This year we have added so much more to keep youngsters entertained. With two additional giant pools, flash mob style performances, extra seaside shows throughout the day and a whole new Texan Smokehouse range of BBQ grill and wood fired pizzas there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained.” Throughout the summer, there will also be traditional sheep races, a fairground teacup ride, sand art activities and a five acre maize maze. And, for those who build up an appetite in the water, there's a new Texan Smokehouse which will be serving BBQ specials such as smoked beef brisket, smashed burgers and grilled Alabama Chicken plus five new wood-fired pizza ovens, including a dedicated gluten free pizza oven. A sweet station will offer Boston Donuts, homemade locally sourced ice cream and Paninis – with ice cream and sweet toppings fried in brioche buns. Farmarama will run every day throughout the six-week school holidays from Saturday July 19 to Monday September 1. Admission includes access to the other farmyard activities. Those who visit before Saturday August 9 can take advantage of the Summer Double the Fun offer, which provides a free return entry during Farmarama.
