Fashion fans are getting ready for the biggest night of the year - the Met Gala . The annual bash is set to take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the excitement is already brewing as to what outlandish looks the famous faces will bring to the red carpet this time. While the world watches as the biggest name in the world of showbiz and fashion strut their stuff, it's left to the imagination as to what goes on behind the scenes. However, a stylist working this year's shindig has revealed just how things pan out in the build-up to the glamorous gala. Speaking to the Mirror , Celebrity Hair and Makeup Artist Geo Brian Hennings, who will be working with actress Adrienne Warren this year, said: "You would think hair stylist makeup artist and stylist we are only given hours and hours to get the celebrities prepare. "Sometimes you can only have 45 minutes to do everything and sometimes you can have two to four hours. It’s a crazy night you work very fast and very efficient and teams can be up to 10 people to get one person ready. "People have to be sewn into things or carried ,or a large van that only fits them and the dress. Also we have to prep as a makeup artist, hair stylist and stylist weeks, sometimes months before, depending on how extreme the look is." Geo Brian opened up on a previous experience too, adding: "One year a client was invited two days before the met so that’s how much time I had to create a look for the Olympics of hair, makeup and fashion." And Geo Brian also revealed just how hectic things can get on the night, describing the queues faced for getting in an elevator once ready. "Because everyone kinda gets ready at the same hotel you will have to wait sometimes 45 minutes for an elevator and then when you get in, you could be standing next to a Kardashian, a famous Make Up Artist, Hair Stylist or your favourite celebrity, which is happened to me numerous times." Ahead of this year's event, Geo Brian told the public to "look out for new designers this year" due to the Gala's "Tailored for You" theme. "You’re gonna see a huge influx of new designers and their perspective on fashion, which I don’t think we’ve seen in years before," Geo Brian predicted. He added: "This year‘s Met Gala will not compare to previous years. The theme black dandyism is going make designers explore more tailored menswear inspired outfits this year." Like this story?
