Damascus, SANA- Information Minister Dr. Hamza al-Mustafa met Saturday with Chargé d’Affaires of the European Union Delegation to Syria, Michael Ohnmacht,
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the facilities provided by the new Syrian government to Arab and international media outlets operating within the country.
The meeting also addressed the ministry’s efforts to support national and independent media and create an appropriate environment for media production companies to return to the Syrian market.
Minister al-Mustafa spoke about the Ministry’s efforts to combat misinformation and rumors spread on social media, as well as the hate speech they promote, affirming emphasized the importance of promoting a rational and balanced media discourse.
He also outlined the Ministry’s strategy for regulating media work, ensuring freedom of expression for national and independent media outlets and contributing to the development of a comprehensive media discourse that represents the various components of Syrian society.
