@Source: news18.com
Star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant on Saturday, June 21, set the internet ablaze as he smacked his seventh Test hundred, his third in England, as India continued their marathon run-scoring against the hosts at Headingley, in the first of the five-Test series.
Pant had ended Day 2 on 65 and looked solid enough for a big score on Day 2 of the Test.
As soon as Pant saw Shoaib Bashir come in to bowl on Day 2, he ramped up his scoring and smacked the England spinner for a six off his first ball. He went on to score the hundred with a one-handed six off Bashir.
“Top-class pacers or spinners, turning or seaming pitches, difficult match situation, nothing can stop Rishabh Pant in a test. King of Red ball cricket,” former Indian cricketer Mohammed Kaif tweeted on Saturday afternoon.

“I know everyone hates an ‘I told you so’ but this is exactly why I kept saying that the IPL form will have no bearing on what Rishabh #Pant does in England. Always the X factor, proper match winner in this format. And now the Indian keeper with the most tons! ?#ENGvIND,” former India cricketer Deep Dasgupta tweeted.
