IPL 2025 Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap after MI vs CSK: Mumbai Indians rode on Rohit Sharma’s first fifty of the ongoing season on Sunday (April 20) to chase down the target of 177 runs in 15.4 overs and secure a big win by 9 wickets over arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in the 38th league match of IPL 2025 played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The first win over CSK in the IPL since the 2022 season helped the Hardik Pandya-led side rise to the No. 6 position in the points table, and after losing their sixth match of the ongoing season, the Chennai Super Kings remain in the last place.
Gujarat Titans, with 10 points from seven matches and a net run rate of +0.984, top the league table, and Shubman Gill’s men are followed by Delhi Capitals (10 points, +0.589 NRR), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (10 points, +0.472 NRR), Punjab Kings (10 points, +0.177 NRR) and Lucknow Super Giants (10 points, +0.088 NRR).

Suryakumar Yadav remained unbeaten on 68 runs from 29 balls for the Mumbai Indians on Sunday, and his knock helped him rise to the No. 3 position in the list of leading run-getters in the IPL this year. The 34-year-old right-handed batter from Mumbai has 333 runs to his name in eight matches played so far. He is followed by Virat Kohli (322 runs in eight matches). The former India captain remained unbeaten on 73 runs from 54 balls for RCB on Sunday evening at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur against Punjab Kings.
LSG’s Nicholas Pooran leads the Orange Cap race with 368 runs to his name in eight matches, and GT’s Sai Sudharsan is 2nd with 365 runs in seven matches.

GT’s Prasidh Krishna, with 14 wickets in seven matches, leads the Purple Cap race and is followed by Delhi Capitals spinner Kuldeep Yadav (12 wickets in seven matches).
MI captain Hardik Pandya is 8th on the list with 11 wickets, and CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed has now dropped to 10th place.
