IPL 2025 Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap after PBKS vs KKR: Punjab Kings successfully managed to defend the total of 111 runs on Tuesday (April 15) and secure a memorable win by 16 runs over Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025 match played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. After opting to bat first, PBKS could only manage to score 111 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 15.3 overs, but the total proved enough as they dismissed the opposition side for just 95 runs in 15.1 overs.
The nail-biting win over KKR helped PBKS rise to the No. 4 position in the IPL 2025 points table, whereas after losing four out of seven matches, KKR are now in sixth place.

Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Ajinkya Rahane scored 17 runs from 17 balls against Punjab Kings on Tuesday to take his tally of runs to 220 in seven IPL 2025 matches played so far and rise to the No. 7 position in the list of leading run scorers, which is topped by Lucknow Super Giants batter Nicholas Pooran (357 runs in seven matches).
For Punjab Kings, opening batter Priyansh Arya scored 22 runs from 12 balls with the help of three fours and one six after Shreyas Iyer opted to bat first. His short but impactful knock helped him take his tally of runs to 216 in IPL 2025 and move to ninth position in the Orange Cap leaderboard.
Iyer had the chance to overtake Pooran during his team’s match against KKR, but he got out for a two-ball duck and, as a result, remained in 4th position.

Fast bowler Harshit Rana picked up three wickets for 25 runs in three overs for KKR on Tuesday, and his figures helped him to rise to the No. 10 position in the list of leading wicket-takers in IPL 2025. In seven matches played so far this year, Rana has dismissed 10 batters. He has an economy rate of 8.82. His KKR teammate Varun Chakaravarthy is in fifth place with 10 wickets to his credit in seven matches. The Tamil Nadu-based spinner accounted for the dismissal of two PBKS batters in his quota of four overs in the Ajinkya Rahane-led side’s win.
CSK’s Noor Ahmad and Khaleel Ahmed continue to lead the Purple Cap race with 12 and 11 wickets to their name, respectively. LSG’s Shardul Thakur is in third position with 11 wickets, and DC’s Kuldeep Yadav is fourth in the list with 10 wickets in five matches.
For Punjab Kings, star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal picked up 4 wickets for 28 runs in four overs, and three KKR batters were sent back to the pavilion by Marco Jansen, who conceded 17 runs in 3.1 overs.
