At approximately 8pm yesterday, a devastating fire broke out on Urau Place in Nadawa, leaving a local family without a home. Suresh Chand and his wife, Sarojini Chand, were tragically displaced when the blaze engulfed their property, destroying everything inside.
The fire reportedly spread quickly, consuming the family’s belongings and leaving them with nothing, but ashes. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing.
“I just couldn’t believe it. Everything we worked for, gone in an instant,” Mr Chand shared, visibly shaken.
“We’ve lost everything. Our home, our memories, everything.”
Sarojini Chand, also deeply affected by the tragedy, described the moment the fire started as chaotic.
“It all happened so fast. There was no time to save anything,” she said.
Neighbours rushed to assist, but the fire was too intense to contain. Emergency services were on the scene promptly, but by the time the flames were extinguished, the damage was already done.
