‘It drives me nuts’ – Golf star, 33, reveals he must ‘improve attitude’ ahead of Masters 2025

TYRRELL HATTON vowed not to get caught up in any Masters madness next week — even though the course drives him nuts!
Hatton’s Dubai Desert Classic victory in January — on the back of a third Dunhill Links triumph at St Andrews — was overshadowed by the kind of bad behaviour that earned him his “Terrible Tyrrell” nickname.
He laid waste to two tee markers after a poor shot in the third round, bringing him a hefty fine and a warning about his conduct from DP World Tour officials.
The green jackets would take a much dimmer view.
And Hatton — currently in action at the LIV Miami tournament — knows he will have to bite the bullet when the action begins at Augusta on Thursday.
The volatile Englishman, 33, said: “I know before I get there that Augusta is going to be a frustrating experience — again — and I just have to find a way to deal with it.
“My record at The Masters is shocking and I’m the first to admit it.
"Finishing tied ninth last year looks good but I broke par just once, only the fifth time I’ve done that in 28 attempts.
“I honestly don’t think there is another course on the planet that I would play that many times and shoot only two rounds in the 60s.
“It was one out of 27 before my final round 69 last year. And I’ve shot 80 twice, which puts it in perspective.

“Even that round last year had its share of the stuff that drives me nuts.
“But the course isn’t going to change — so I guess that my attitude has to improve instead.”
Hatton has featured in eight Masters tournaments, missing the cut twice and only finishing above T34 twice.
The Ryder Cup star has played 28 rounds at Augusta National, managing to break par on just five occasions and averaging 73.61 per round.
