'It's very gratifying' - Jack Charlton receives a warm welcome to Kilkenny (1994)

Former Republic of Ireland manager, Jack Charlton flew into Kilkenny in February 1994, much to the excitement of local soccer fans and the general public. The Irish team were preparing for the World Cup in the USA later that year, as the then Irish boss took questions from local media in the backroom of Sherwood's on High Street. Amongst the media present on the day were the Kilkenny People and Radio Kilkenny. Relive those special moments from over 30 years ago on the Kilkenny People Sport Podcast below
