Sunday night's Dancing on Ice didn't sit well with fans as the series bid farewell to its fifth celebrity.
Following the live performances, Charlie Brooks and Anton Ferdinand were placed at risk of departure, facing the nerve-wracking skate-off.
Despite a valiant effort from Charlie, it was Anton who won over the judges, leading to Charlie's exit from the ITV skating contest.
Disgruntled viewers rushed to social media to share their disbelief and frustration. One upset fan declared on Twitter: "#DancingOnIce What a fix." Another stated: "#dancingonice should of been Anton out again but hmmm."
One viewer expressed disappointment: "Gutted that #Charlie is out loved her personality she should not have gone. #Dancingonice."
Meanwhile, another sent supportive words, commenting: "Very sorry to see you go, Charlie. Your improvement and increased confidence on the ice was a pure joy to watch. Sending so much love to you and to Eric."
One particularly vexed audience member voiced: "This series has been potentially the worst I have ever seen. So many surprising scores, contradicting comments, sending the best skaters home.. honestly it has been difficult to watch."
And yet another chimed in with the simple accusation of: "Boooo fix #DancingOnIce." However, for Charlie, it appeared that parting with the competition was taken in stride, reports the Mirror.
Reflecting on her journey, Charlie shared: "I've had the most amazing time, the right person went home. I was starting to fee slightly out of my depth and I've just loved every second."
The EastEnders actress took a moment to express gratitude towards the coaches who work tirelessly behind the scenes, and she didn't forget to acknowledge her skating partner.
She continued: "Eric, who has been an absolute dream, so yeah, it's been amazing. Thank you."
Host Stephen Mulhern also chimed in with his thoughts on Charlie's stint on the show, stating: "Do you know something? You have been brilliant. Backstage, on the rink, you're just a lovely person."
Charlie assured Stephen that she would keep in touch with her skating partner, a sentiment echoed by Holly who agreed that the show had greatly benefited from Charlie's participation.
Dancing on Ice is available to watch on ITVX.
