@Source: independent.ng
In furtherance of its commitment to youth empowerment and financial inclusion, LAPO Microfinance Bank has actively engaged corps members at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp currently ongoing in Sagamu, Ogun State, as part of the activities marking International Youth Day 2025. The engagement featured a vibrant mix of financial literacy sessions, interactive games, and entrepreneurial challenges designed to equip young Nigerians with essential money management skills and business development insights. The initiative also provided corps members the opportunity to win cash prizes through knowledge-based games, business pitch presentations, and team challenges aimed at fostering creativity, problem-solving, and financial discipline. Addressing the corps members, Oluremi Akande, Director of Marketing and Communications, LAPO Microfinance Bank, noted: “At LAPO Microfinance Bank, youth empowerment is not just a corporate social responsibility; it is a strategic investment in the nation’s future. The enthusiasm, innovation, and resilience of Nigerian youths inspire our drive to provide them with financial knowledge and opportunities that can translate into sustainable livelihoods. Our participation at the NYSC Camp in Sagamu underscores our commitment to building a financially savvy, entrepreneurially minded generation.” It would be recalled that earlier this month, as part of activities lined-up in commemorating International Youth Day 2025, LAPO Microfinance Bank supported the University of Lagos Mass Communication Students’ Association (MCSA) Week, leveraging the platform to promote financial inclusion and entrepreneurial development. A key highlight was Finance Literacy Day, which brought together students, young entrepreneurs, and industry professionals for interactive sessions on personal finance, savings culture, and business growth. The programme culminated in the Pitch Your Biz competition, where aspiring student entrepreneurs presented their ideas to a panel of experts from the business and financial sectors. The top three winners received cash prizes of N150,000, N100,000, and N75,000 respectively, courtesy of LAPO Microfinance Bank. Through these strategic youth engagements, LAPO Microfinance Bank continues to reinforce its position as a catalyst for social and economic empowerment, creating opportunities for young Nigerians to thrive in an increasingly competitive and dynamic economy.
