Jasprit Bumrah, Karun Nair OUT; 4 Players IN: India's Likely Playing XI For 2nd Test Against England

1-0 down in the series, India would look to bounce back in the second Test against England at Edgbaston, Birmingham from July 2. India had their moments in the first Test, but they were not good enough to capitalise and thus suffered a five-wicket defeat. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant tonked hundreds for India, but the lower middle order suffered a collapse, managing 41/7 and 77-7 in the two innings, respectively. With the ball, Jasprit Bumrah was brilliant, but the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Prasidh Krishna were off colour. The second Test is very important for India. A defeat would put England 2-0 ahead in the series, and a comeback would become nearly impossible for India. Taking lessons from the defeat in the first Test, India could make a few changes in the playing XI for the second Test. The major change India could see will not be because of performance, but fitness - Jasprit Bumrah. It was pre-decided that Bumrah would only play three Tests in the series, and according to reports, the management is keen on giving Bumrah a break in the second Test. Karun Nair, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur make up for an inconsistent lower order, and India would need some stability there. Nitish Reddy showed great form in Australia and could replace Nair in the XI, while Dhruv Jurel can come in place of Shardul Thakur. India would want Reddy to chip in with a few overs if they want Jurel in the XI. Jurel's inclusion will retain batting depth while Reddy will ensure India don't compromise on the bowling options. India also felt a need for an extra spinner in the first Test, and odds are high that India may turn to Kuldeep Yadav in place of Prasidh Krishna, who had a poor outing in the first game. Arshdeep Singh could replace Jasprit Bumrah in the XI. India Likely Playing XI: KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Nitish Reddy, Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav
