The Northern Region of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria has officially announced the opening of registration for the highly anticipated 2025 Northern Conference, themed Daukaka Arewa — a powerful Hausa phrase meaning “Ele-vate the North.” The conference is scheduled to take place from 7th to 10th August 2025 at Davi-na Hotel and Resorts, Gwarinpa, Abuja.
According to the Conference Chairpersons, the 2025 Northern Conference will focus on empow-ering young leaders with practi-cal skills, strategic knowledge, and actionable tools to improve their communities. The theme, “Elevate North: Empowering Leaders, Enhancing Communi-ties,” reflects a renewed commit-ment to grassroots development through innovation, collabora-tion, and inclusive leadership.
Speaking at the announce-ment, Executive Vice Presidents Adewale Oshinaike (North-East) and Ayodeji Akinwande (North- West) jointly emphasized the im-portance of regional unity and youth development in addressing the socio-economic challenges facing Northern Nigeria. “This is more than a conference,” EVP Adewale noted. “It’s a rallying point for transformational lead-ership across our communities.”
EVP Ayodeji added that the unveiling of the official confer-ence logo — inspired by Abuja’s City Gate and Aso Rock — sym-bolizes strength, vision, and collective progress. “This year’s conference will empower partic-ipants to move beyond conversa-tion and into meaningful action,” he said.
JCI Nigeria President, JCIN Amb. Oluwatoyin Atanda, has also expressed strong support for the initiative, highlighting how it aligns with the national ELV8 Agenda — Engagement, Leader-ship and Values-driven achieved through 8 flagship projects. “This conference is a bold step toward building a Northern region that thrives through service and lead-ership,” she said.
The four-day event will feature leadership training, entrepre-neurship development, cultural exchange, panel discussions, and networking opportunities — all tailored to elevate young change-makers across the region.
Other notable stakeholders expected at the conference in-clude JCI Senators, National Officers, Alumni leaders, and Partners who have continu-ously supported the mission of nurturing young leaders and sustainable impact.
