During a joint press conference held in Paris, the Jordanian King said that Israel's resumption of attacks on Gaza is a highly dangerous step that adds further destruction to the already deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Strip.
King Abdullah II called on the international community to intensify collective efforts to restore the ceasefire and implement all of its stages, warning that the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank would further destabilize the region.
He stressed his rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinians, reaffirming that the two-state solution is the only path to ensure peace for both Palestine and Israel.
For his part, French President Macron described the resumption of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza as a major setback, adding that hostilities must stop immediately, and negotiations must resume in good faith under American mediation.
Macron called for a permanent cessation of hostilities and the release of all hostages in Gaza, stressing that an Israeli military solution in Gaza will not be possible.
The French President said that a political solution must be found, adding that the Arab countries have put forward a good plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, emphasizing that the establishment of a Palestinian state is crucial for achieving stability in the region. (QNA)
