Jurrien Timber tells Arsenal team-mates it's time to 'change the narrative'

Jurrien Timber insists Arsenal can turn their whole season around in the Champions League.
Gunners defender Timber says the aim is to “change the narrative” after two disastrous results in the Premier League left their title hopes in tatters.
Arsenal failed to score against West Ham and Nottingham Forest, dropped five points and are now 11 points behind leaders Liverpool which means Europe is their best hope of silverware.
Timber, who will face Dutch club PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night, said: “I think the motivation is there. It’s an amazing league to play in. We showed in the Group stages that we did really well, we have a good team and this is a beautiful game and a chance to change the narrative to win.
“Arsenal is a big club. I also feel like I’m part of something big, this team can win a lot and we will always do everything we can to win prizes and tomorrow is another step towards that.
“It’s a big challenge. PSV have shown everyone that they have a lot of quality, not just up front, but as a team they are very strong. It will be very difficult.”
Arsenal have been hit by injuries with Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli all out which has obliterated their strike force and goal threat. But even after drawing a blank in their last two games, Timber is confident they will come up with a solution and score goals.
Timber said: “I think we have so much quality in our group, of course we have a lot of injuries, especially up front but it’s a beautiful challenge for us to put our front players - or anyone - to score goals and hopefully we can show that.
“We have to score tomorrow, we have to win and in the Champions League you only have two games so you don’t get second chances so we have to go for it in this game.
“I don’t see it as negative but we’ve been through a lot, especially the last couple of weeks but it’s a challenge for us and we have to take it.
“We’re always working on a lot, attacking-wise, defending-wise. We are always working on things and we will never stop doing that.”
