Spring is upon us, and Justin Bieber is ringing in the official start of hoodies-over-shorts season with an easygoing (and exceedingly replicable) outfit we’re sure to see pinned to menswear mood boards for months to come.
When the musician enjoyed a coffee at Dialog Café in Los Angeles on Monday, he did so in an outfit that felt notably toned down compared to the more outré ensembles he’s been wearing as of late. His daytime look comprised blue checkered Umbro shorts from the athletic brand’s collaboration with “streetwear’s reigning mesh short king” Eric Emmanuel (he also recently wore a matching jersey from the same collection), techy Le Specs “Dotcom” sunglasses, Bottega Veneta shearling-covered ankle boots with scrunched white socks, and a loose, raw-hemmed Aya Muse rugby shirt in a very Nancy Meyers shade of beige.
Since Bieber is no stranger to grabbing lunch or running an errand in, say, a fur-trimmed Prada jacket or two gigantic pairs of Balenciaga sweatpants, it can even be a bit startling when he wears something so relatively accessible. He looked relaxed, even a little fratty. On Instagram, Emmanuel declared it to be “a very good Sunday outfit.” Among other conspicuous changes, Bieber also recently reinstated his diamond-studded nose ring for the first time since 2016.
And speaking of switching things up after nearly a decade: Bieber recently enlisted a new stylist, Jenna Tyson, to help curate his personal wardrobe, after working nearly exclusively with super-stylist Karla Welch since 2011. However, per Tyson’s announcement post on Instagram, the musician is currently styling his outfits himself.
