Juventus duo could join Man United in Rasmus Hojlund swap transfer after snubbing Arsenal

Manchester United are reportedly considering a bold player exchange involving two high-profile stars who previously turned down Arsenal. With Juventus expressing interest in signing Rasmus Hojlund, United are weighing several possibilities as they approach what could be a pivotal transfer window. According to Tuttosport, the Italian giants are willing to swap both Dusan Vlahovic and Douglas Luiz for Hojlund as they look to restructure their squad by shedding high-value players. Vlahovic famously chose a £70million move to Juventus over Arsenal in 2022, but his future in Turin is uncertain. With his contract expiring in 2026, Juve are motivated to sell him rather than risk losing him for nothing next year. Despite netting 55 goals in 140 games for the club, the 25-year-old striker has faced criticism over inconsistent form and underwhelming performances in big games. He's scored just nine times in Serie A this season, and his hefty £317,000-per-week salary has prompted Juventus to explore exit strategies. Luiz, meanwhile, has yet to secure a consistent role at Juventus following his £43m arrival from Aston Villa last year. The 26-year-old Brazilian has long attracted Premier League interest, with Arsenal having previously made a series of offers, and Manchester City also showing interest earlier this year. But now, a move to Old Trafford may be on the cards. As Ruben Amorim gears up for his debut full season in charge, United are expected to strengthen multiple positions, with midfield being a particular area of concern. Luiz is regarded as a player who can bring dynamism and steel to the heart of the team. Still, this proposed deal depends heavily on whether Juventus formalise their pursuit of Hojlund. Since his £72m transfer from Atalanta in 2023, the Danish forward has struggled to find consistent form at Old Trafford. Nonetheless, his past success at Atalanta has kept his reputation strong in Serie A. Juventus, needing to replace Vlahovic, view Hojlund as a logical fit - especially since Amorim has used him sparingly so far. The Turin side are reportedly ready to part with both Vlahovic and Luiz to secure Hojlund. But it remains unclear whether this exchange aligns with United's strategic and financial goals. Given the club's delicate financial situation , a cash sale might be more attractive as they aim to balance the books. Still, if Hojlund exits, United will need a replacement, and someone like Vlahovic brings top-level European experience and could come at a discount. There could be a complication, however, with Vlahovic's wages. Only three United players currently earn more than £200,000 weekly, so a move would likely require a significant pay cut from the Serbian international. Even so, such a swap could be a smart gamble - exactly the sort of calculated risk United may need to embrace after a disappointing season they can ill afford to repeat.
