Doha, June 29 (QNA) - The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique in Qatar, inaugurated today the "Echoes of Earth" exhibition by renowned Mozambican artist Sebastiao Coana.
The exhibition commemorates the 50th anniversary of Mozambique's independence and the 31st anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mozambique and the State of Qatar.
Held at Katara Building 47, Hall 1, the opening ceremony was attended by General Manager of Katara, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti along with several ambassadors accredited to Qatar, media representatives, and figures from the cultural and artistic communities.
The exhibition features eighteen paintings that vary in theme and style, offering a rich visual narrative exploring the deep connection between humanity and nature. These works reflect Katara's mission to foster intercultural dialogue, promote artistic expression, and embrace the diverse creative experiences of peoples around the world.
Part of Katara's broader commitment to celebrating cultural diversity, the exhibition also serves as a tribute to Mozambique's Independence Day, affirming the Foundation's role as a platform for international artistic exchange and cultural celebration.
Echoes of Earth is open to the public until July 12, welcoming visitors daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Katara also unveiled a striking new mural titled "Touches of Culture: A Celebration of Unity" on the facade of Building 43. Measuring 7 meters in width and 3 meters in height, the mural encapsulates Katara's unique architectural identity and its dedication to visual arts.
Created by Coana, the mural combines symbolic and abstract motifs, such as musical instruments, rhythmic patterns, and silhouettes inspired by Qatari architecture, rendered in vibrant colors and intricate details. Designed to be visually engaging and media-friendly, the mural encourages visitor interaction, serving as a dynamic backdrop for photographs and digital sharing that enhances Katara's global cultural presence.
