Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos reflect on disturbingly moist 'cornhole sweating' in summer heat: 'Got a good view'

After kicking off Wednesday's edition of Live With Kelly & Mark with a joyous on-air celebration of their longtime announcer Déjà Vu's birthday, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos wasted absolutely no time transitioning into a conversation about humidity, moisture, and butts.
Consuelos' first business for the day included a reflection on "corn sweat," amid the "punishing heat and humidity" currently sweeping the United States.
"Is that when the corn sweats?" Ripa asked.
"The corn sweats," Consuelos confirmed.
Consuelos elaborated on the process, noting that "it does not involve any actual sweating," but it does include the vegetable releasing "water vapor into the atmosphere" that will "make it that much more humid" in the Midwest under a "heat dome" of hellish temps.
"We watched people on Saturday night playing cornhole, and they had cornhole sweat. They were cornhole sweating," Ripa said of the popular sport, the name of which is often used scandalously for comedic effect.
"You had a good view of that," Consuelos told his wife. "I was facing the other way. Were they good at it?"
"I've yet to see the person that's excellent at cornhole," Ripa said, before seamlessly transitioning to a commemoration of Ozzy Osbourne after the rocker's death Tuesday at the age of 76.
Ripa previously raised alarm bells about the summer heat, addressing the increasing temperatures in June, when she said that she feared people would go "nude in Central Park" in the weeks ahead.
"First of all, does anybody work here in the city? Don't these people have jobs?" Consuelos asked of the alleged Central Park streakers at the time.
Speaking of sports, Ripa and Consuelos are also gearing up to launch their new ESPN docuseries, Running With the Wolves, which chronicles their co-ownership of the Italian Campobasso Wolves soccer team and premieres July 29.

"As a person who has been in labor, I can say assuredly and with 100 percent accuracy it is much easier to give birth to children than what is happening in our lives," Ripa said in the show's first teaser. "Because I feel like, well … I try to stay out of it as much as possible, because I don't know what I'm talking about, and I know enough to know what I don't know, which is everything."
