The 5th edition of the KGL Foundation Inter-regional U-17 Colts Championship will launch on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Conference Room of the Ghana Football Association.
President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, Executive Council Members, and top officials of the KGL Foundation are expected to attend. Chairmen of the ten Regional Football Associations, representatives of Colts Clubs, and other football administrators will also be in attendance.
Launched in 2021, the KGL Foundation Inter-regional U-17 Championship aims to promote talent discovery, foster regional unity, support youth development, and nurture future stars from the district level to the national phase.
The first edition, held at the Mc Dan La Town Park and Madina Astro Turf, was won by MAL FC. Great Corinthians then claimed the trophy in 2022. In 2023, the U-17 team of the Ashanti Region hosted and won the title, becoming the first region to lift the trophy.
Last year, the tournament moved to the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, where Western Region defeated Eastern Region 2-1 in the final to claim the coveted trophy.
The KGL Foundation Inter-regional U-17 Championship serves as a critical platform for identifying and developing future stars, providing young talents with opportunities to shine and reach their full potential.
The ten Regional Football Associations will select the best U-17 players from their colts competitions to represent their regions.
