Jewel Thief - The Heist Begins stars Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat in a slick, high-stakes diamond robbery filled with twists and betrayals; Andor season 2 returns to the Star Wars universe with a tense, espionage-fuelled chapter in Cassian Andor’s journey toward rebellion; You kicks off its final season as Joe Goldberg navigates his twisted past in a high-society New York setting; Havoc sees Tom Hardy tear through the criminal underworld in a gritty, action-packed fight for redemption. The Rehearsal season 2 (April 21) Nathan Fielder returns with season 2 of The Rehearsal, a boundary-pushing docu-comedy that blurs the line between performance and reality. Expanding on the original premise of staging meticulous simulations to help people prepare for difficult life moments, the new season ventures further into emotionally and ethically complex territory. Fielder constructs immersive, long-term rehearsals focused on major life events such as marriage, parenthood and personal dilemmas, questioning how much of life can be planned before it loses its spontaneity. Streaming on JioHotstar Andor season 2 (April 23) Andor: A Star Wars Story returns for its second and final season, delivering a gripping 12-episode arc that charts Cassian Andor’s transformation from reluctant insurgent to pivotal Rebel leader. Set across four years leading directly into Rogue One, the season unfolds in four three-episode blocks, each capturing a critical year in the escalating conflict against the Empire. The plot follows the harrowing journey of the Hayabusa No. 60 Shinkansen, which is rigged with a bomb set to detonate if the train’s speed drops below 100 km/h. The series chronicles Alcaraz’s meteoric rise, capturing his 2024 season across major tournaments like the French Open, Wimbledon and the Paris Olympics. Streaming on Netflix Étoile (April 24) ​Étoile, the latest creation from Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino (Gilmore Girls, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), is an eight-episode dramedy set against the backdrop of elite ballet companies in New York and Paris. The series focuses on artistic directors Jack (Luke Kirby) and Geneviève (Charlotte Gainsbourg) as they orchestrate a daring exchange of principal dancers to rejuvenate their struggling institutions. Blending sharp writing with intricate choreography by Marguerite Derricks, the show offers a poignant exploration of ballet’s challenges. Streaming on Prime Video L2: Empuraan (April 24) Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2: Empuraan, the much-anticipated sequel to Lucifer, delves deeper into the dual life of Stephen Nedumpally (Mohanlal), who operates as the enigmatic global crime lord Khureshi Ab’raam. The narrative intertwines political intrigue in Kerala with international conspiracies, as Stephen confronts new adversaries while navigating his complex past. The ensemble cast includes Prithviraj Sukumaran as Zayed Masood, Manju Warrier as Priyadarshini Ramdas, Tovino Thomas as Jathin Ramdas and Indrajith Sukumaran as Govardhan. Streaming on JioHotstar You season 5 (April 24) You returns for its fifth and final season, bringing Joe Goldberg’s twisted journey full circle back to New York City. Now a wealthy figure entrenched in Manhattan’s elite, Joe attempts to lead a reformed life with his wife, Kate Lockwood-Goldberg (Charlotte Ritchie). However, his dark past resurfaces as he faces challenges from the formidable Lockwood family, including Anna Camp in dual roles as the ambitious Raegan and the manipulative Maddie. New additions to the cast include Madeline Brewer as Bronte, a free-spirited playwright who rekindles Joe’s obsessions, and Nava Mau as Detective Marquez, determined to uncover the truth behind his façade. Returning characters such as Tati Gabrielle’s Marienne and Joe’s son Henry (Frankie DeMaio) further complicate his quest for redemption. Streaming on Netflix Absolution (April 25) Absolution is a brooding crime thriller starring Liam Neeson as an ageing enforcer haunted by a violent past and a diagnosis of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). Determined to reconnect with his estranged daughter (Frankie Shaw) and meet his grandson, he finds his path to redemption obstructed when he becomes entangled in a brutal human trafficking ring. As a series of unexplained deaths come to light, she finds herself entangled in a web of eerie rituals, ancestral secrets and the haunting presence of a family deity named Kondayya. Streaming on ZEE5 Jewel Thief - The Heist Begins (April 25) This action-thriller zeroes in on master thief Rehan Roy (Saif Ali Khan) as he is enlisted by crime lord Rajan Aulakh (Jaideep Ahlawat) to steal the elusive African Red Sun diamond, valued at ₹500 crores. The heist spirals into a high-stakes game of deception and betrayal, with detective Vikram Patel (Kunal Kapoor) in pursuit and Farah (Nikita Dutta), Rehan’s former flame, now married to Rajan, adding to the intrigue. The cast also features Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Jackie Shroff and Paresh Rawal. Streaming on Netflix Havoc (April 25) This Gareth Evans (The Raid, Gangs of London) actioner is set over two intense nights just before Christmas. It follows Detective Walker (Tom Hardy), a morally compromised cop navigating a city’s criminal underworld after a drug deal spirals into chaos. Tasked with rescuing a politician’s estranged son, Walker uncovers a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that threatens to engulf the entire city. Evans describes Havoc as his “love letter to the heroic bloodshed genre,” drawing inspiration from ’80s and ’90s Hong Kong cinema. The ensemble includes Jessie Mei Li, Timothy Olyphant, Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzmán and Yeo Yann Yann. Streaming on Netflix WondLa season 2 (April 25) WondLa returns for its second season, continuing the animated sci-fi adventure based on Tony DiTerlizzi’s acclaimed trilogy. The story follows 16-year-old Eva Nine, voiced by Jeanine Mason, as she uncovers startling truths about her past and the world she inhabits. Picking up from the first season’s cliffhanger, Eva is drawn toward the promise of home, but new discoveries lead to more unanswered questions. She finds herself pursued by a relentless force that believes she holds the key to something far greater than she ever imagined.
