LESLIE -- The Leslie boys and girls track teams both took first at a rainy Blackhawk Invitational on Friday.
The boys had 150 points to out-pace runner-up Manchester, who finished with 111. Homer was third, Springport and Stockwell Academy tied for fourth.
The Leslie girls had 120 points with Homer second with 101. Springport was third, Manchester fourth and Addison fifth.
The Leslie girls got a one-two finish in the 400 where Leila Messner was first in 1:04.57 and teammate Leah Flannery second.
Hailey Creisher won the 800 in 2:26.37 and the 3200 in 11:35.87, part of a one-two-three finish for the Blackhawks with Margaret Guerra-Harrison and Madison Hunter.
Guerra-Harrison and Hunter were also second and third in the 1600, behind Stockwell Academy’s Ella Heffner.
Creisher, Flannery, Messner and Sarah Krupa teamed up to win the 4x400 in 4:30.97. Flannery, Hunter, Guerra-Harrison and Creisher won the 4x800 in 10:47.91.
The Leslie boys had a come-from-behind win in the 4x800 where Joseph Domecq, Cooper Schmelter, Kenneth Mangles and Matthew Killeen trailed the team from Manchester until the third leg before surging ahead to take the win.
Jacob Phillips won the 400 in 54.57.
Braydin Johnson won the high jump, clearing 6′0 and the long jump with a leap of 19′3.5, where he was one inch beyond the mark of Springport’s Maximillian Argumedo.
Manchester hurdler Grant Johnson swept, winning the 110 hurdles in 15.76 and the 300 hurdles in 40.85. Leslie’s Brady Johnson was second in the 110 hurdles. Springport’s Tucker Wiginton was second in the 300 hurdles.
He also won the 200 in 23.48, with Springport’s Benjamin Curtis second. He then teamed up with Brennan Woods, Sawyer Lutton and Gavin Horky to win the 4x400 in 3:41.29.
Manchester also had a double-winner in the boys throws where Nathan Fletcher threw a 45′0 in shot put and 134′10 in discus.
Addison’s Molly Brown had a dominating win in the 100 hurdles in 14.93. Manchester’s Siera Jedele was second in 17.35.
She turned around and won the 100 moments later in 12.84, with Homer’s Madison Tracy second.
Brown won the 300 hurdles in 44.74, more than six seconds ahead of Jedele.
East Jackson’s Anthony Armstead won the boys 100 in 12.17, beating Braydin Johnson and Homer’s Jayden Farnham by less than a tenth of a second.
Homer’s John Edler won the 1600 in 4:53.19 and the 3200 in 10:55.26.
Homer’s 4x100 relay of Tracy, Alivia Warner, Emma Wildt and Ava Fetterman took first in 53.57.
Tracy, Warner, Fetterman and Lillian Ambler won the 4x200 in 1:53.36.
Wildt cleared 10′6 to take first in pole vault by two feet over Stockwell Academy’s Becka Lethorn.
Fetterman won the long jump with a leap of 15′3.5.
Wiginton and Curtis teamed up with Daniel Dysert and Colby Casler to win the 4x100 in 46.47.
Wiginton also cleared 13′6 to win the pole vault.
Springport’s Kaylee Kopulos won the girls shot put with a 36′5 and the discus with a 123′9. East Jackson’s Mariah Kerley was second in both events.
Addison won the boys 4x200 with Byron Creech, Lucas Morse, Keegan Deel and Michael Beard taking first in 1:38.32.
Stockwell Academy’s Lauren Hammond won the girls 200 in 27.91.
Stockwell Academy also got a boys 800 win from Beckett Fitch.
Byron’s Shayla Bacon cleared 5′0 to win the high jump.
