Some films strike such a strong emotional chord with audiences that no matter how many times they are replayed, they still feel fresh. The 2001 Telugu film Simharasi is one such timeless classic. Starring Dr Rajasekhar and Sakshi Shivanand in the lead roles, the film continues to captivate viewers even after 24 years. Simharasi is widely regarded as one of the most emotional dramas in Tollywood. It also marked the directorial debut of V. Samudra, who gained instant fame with his very first film. (News18 Telugu) Simharasi is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Maayi, which starred Sarath Kumar and Meena. The Telugu version, however, became a massive hit in its own right. The soundtrack composed by SA Rajkumar was a chartbuster, with every song resonating with listeners. Among all the characters in this movie, the child character ‘Babu’, portrayed in the film’s flashback, truly stole the spotlight. (News18 Telugu) Babu’s role was emotionally charged and unforgettable. At the time of filming, the child actor who played ‘Babu’ was only three or four years old. Yet, his performance was so moving that it brought tears to many eyes. (News18 Telugu) Do you know who that child actor is? He is none other than Mahendran, the same actor who played the younger version of Vijay Sethupathi’s character in the Tamil film Master. In fact, Mahendran has been part of the film industry for years, having acted in several movies as a child artist. (News18 Telugu) Mahendran’s film career includes roles in popular films like Pedarayudu, Pelli Chesukundam, Aha!, Devi, Amma Kosam, Nee Sneham, and Simhadri, among others. He even played lead roles in a few Telugu films like First Love and Asalem Gurthundante. However, it was his appearance in Master that gave his career a significant boost. His brief role left a lasting impact on audiences. (News18 Telugu) Though he appeared in only a couple of scenes in Master, his performance was impactful enough to earn him widespread recognition once again. Since then, everyone has been referring to him as ‘Master Mahendran’. At present, he is busy with a line-up of Tamil films and seems to be enjoying a new phase in his acting journey. (News18 Telugu)
