Liverpool SAVED by red card reprieve as pundits Rio Ferdinand and Ally McCoist left stunned in PSG clash

Liverpool were branded "the luckiest team of all time" after they were spared a red card against PSG. Ibrahima Konate looked to have brought down French winger Bradley Barcola in the first half of the two giant's Champions League last-16 clash at the Parc des Princes. The push in the back was on the edge of the Red's penalty box with Luis Enrique's players up in arms pleading for a VAR review for a red card for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity. It would have spelled doom for the Premier League leaders who were second best in the opening 45 minutes with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's opener ruled out for offside. The moment the contact was made the pundits behind the mic were in total agreement. While on TNT Sport commentating duties, Ally McCoist piped up first: "That is a foul!" Rio Ferdinand chipped in: "That is a foul. I think it might just be outside the box. If that is not a red card I will be amazed. It will be a shame if it does go down to 10 against 11 in that sense because you want the best players playing each other equally in the 90 minutes." At half-time Ferdinand added: "They are lucky not to be two or three goals and a man down." However, referee Davide Massa was not called to review his decision at the VAR screen. Man fans took to X to vent their frustration at what they thought was clear sending off. One fan on X claimed Liverpool are "the luckiest team of all time this season."
