She hasn't quite grasped the fact that Indian Rocks Beach is built on a barrier island and vulnerable to increasingly violent and damaging hurricanes. Owners are smart to abandon their residences for safer ground while renting out their homes for vacationers, if it is still financially viable. It sucks to lose neighbors this way for those remaining but you may want to reconsider your life options at this point before you lose everything.
