In a proud moment for India, the Mahindra BE6 has become the first Made-in-India electric SUV to drive on the famous Formula E track in London. This exciting event took place during the London E-Prix weekend, where the BE6 was seen doing laps on the track. Pratap Bose, Chief Design and Creative Officer at Mahindra, shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "So cool to see the BE 6 on the track at the London Formula-e races this weekend! Race to Road was the philosophy when we were designing this beauty!" The Mahindra BE6 is part of Mahindra’s new range of electric SUVs. It comes with two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The 59 kWh version produces 227 hp of power and 380 Nm of torque, while the bigger 79 kWh version gives 281 hp of power. The car also has different driving modes, including a special Boost Mode for a more thrilling ride. Plus, it supports superfast charging, with 20 to 80% charge in just 20 minutes using a fast DC charger. That’s not all—Mahindra is also working on a hybrid version of the BE6. It will use a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine along with an electric motor, giving better fuel efficiency and flexible driving options. Mahindra is planning to bring more versions of the BE6 soon. Reports say a new “Pack Three Select” variant with a 79 kWh battery is in the pipeline. With the BE6 making waves internationally, Mahindra is showing the world that Indian electric vehicles are ready to shine on the global stage—both on and off the track.
