Cairo, June 23 (QNA) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed regional developments in a phone call today with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with a particular focus on the latest development in the war between Iran and Israel, the escalation in Gaza, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
In a statement, the Egyptian presidency indicated that the call emphasized the need to halt the current escalation and emphasized that a negotiated political solution is the only way to end the crisis, far from military solutions.
The two sides also expressed deep concern that the continuation of military operations in the region could lead to a new wave of instability, which would negatively impact the peoples of the entire Middle East and threaten peace and security at the regional and international levels.
They emphasized that the current escalation between Iran and Israel must not obscure the ongoing tragedy in the Gaza Strip. (QNA)
