Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been called out by Nice manager Franck Haise after he was critical of the standard of French football. Speaking in a recent interview with The Times , Ratcliffe's loyalty to Nice was questioned after he has been more hands-on with United than the French club. The 72-year-old responded: "I don’t particularly enjoy going to watch Nice because, there are some good players, but the level of football is not high enough for me to get excited." Unsurprisingly, this has gone down badly with Nice supporters particularly when the French team sit fourth in Ligue 1. Following the international break, Haise was asked for his reaction to the comments and the manager questioned whether Ratcliffe had been watching his team. "The article that [the comments] appeared in was a lot more complete than that," he replied. "But he hasn’t seen a Nice match this season. "He’s speaking a bit more about what he saw at another time. With the people who are here at the club, we are here to make the club progress in order to be even better. "It’s not that serious. We can be annoyed, that’s obvious. "But is it really worth staying annoyed for a long time? We have got to keep working, enjoying ourselves and we have got to be doing the best possible. "We have to move on and continue on our path." Undoubtedly, Ratcliffe has been devoting most of his time on United as he tries to rebuild them into a force again. Before the international break, Ratcliffe and Ineos announced plans to build a new 100,000-seater stadium to replace Old Trafford . For some time, the Theatre of Dreams has been in desperate need of repair and the British billionaire has insisted a 'Wembley of the North' needs to be built.
