Man United receive new Jonathan Tah transfer update after 'formal proposal'
@Source: manchestereveningnews.co.uk
Bayern Munich are reportedly awaiting Manchester United -linked Jonathan Tah's decision after sending a formal proposal to sign the Bayer Leverkusen centre-back. The German international is set to leave the Bundesliga side on a free when his contract expires at the end of June. Tah, who has rejected multiple contract offers from Leverkusen, has been linked with moves to United, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich. However, Bayern who are the frontrunners for his signature and have sent the player a formal proposal. In a new update by Fabrizio Romano , it's said that the proposal has been 'approved internally' by the club, including the player's proposed salary. That said, the German giants are still awaiting the 'green light' from the defender's side. This isn't the first time Tah has been on the verge of a move to Bayern, as a transfer was also close last summer. However, a deal never materialised as the two clubs were unable to agree on a fee. Speaking on his future earlier this year, Tah confirmed he would leave the 2024 Bundesliga champions at the end of the season. "Definitely," he replied last month when asked if he would be leaving Leverkusen at the end of the campaign. "To be honest, I don’t have a time window (to decide on the future). I have informed the club of that. Everything has been openly communicated. "The club knows about it. Everything has been said from the beginning. There was a time when I made the decision not to renew my contract and to stick with it. That’s the case now." United may consider signing a new centre-back this summer with Victor Lindelof set to leave. Reds boss Ruben Amorim deploys three centre-backs in his system and would have Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven and Lisandro Martinez to pick from.
