The Red Devils have been interested in signing Xavi Simons for quite some time.
Xavi Simons has been on the radar of the big boys for years. Since his emergence in the youth ranks at PSG and the attention he attracted on social media for his skills and maturity, European clubs have been keeping a close eye on him. At the age of 22, the Dutchman has already experienced three different countries, played for demanding clubs and maintained an upward trend.
After an outstanding season at PSV, he returned to Paris and was loaned out to Leipzig, where he showed his ability, goals and constant energy. However, stability has yet to come. Simons’ desire to leave in the next transfer window is starting to attract the attention of several clubs.
Manchester United target Xavi Simons is ready to leave RB Leipzig
Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Amsterdam-born striker has already communicated his intention to leave Leipzig, despite the fact that he only arrived permanently in January. He signed in the winter after a good first half of the season and finished with nine goals in 24 Bundesliga games. Metro has reported that clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal are keeping a close eye on him. Both had sounded him out last summer, and now the option seems more concrete.
The player wants to play in the Champions League, something Leipzig will not be able to offer him next season. The figure is around £63 million, an amount that not everyone is willing to pay. Even so, in England, they see the operation as feasible. Bayern Munich monitors the situation, although the high price tips the balance towards the Premier League.
The player’s entourage is keen on a change of scenery, and the English Premier League appears to be the most likely destination. Moreover, Simons still dreams of returning to Camp Nou one day, but for now, he sees it as a future step.
