Manchester United 'prepared to offer' £61m for transfer as striker boost emerges
@Source: manchestereveningnews.co.uk
Manchester United have officially entered the final month of the summer transfer window, and there are still plenty of deals that could be completed. United have added Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to their squad, with the potential of more new signings to come. RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is a target for United, but the Reds will face competition from Newcastle for his signature. Ruben Amorim and Co. are currently in the United States for their pre-season tour and will take on Everton on Sunday in their final match of their trip. United will already have an eye on their Premier League opener against Arsenal on August 17. Here, the Manchester Evening News takes a look at some of the latest United transfer news and gossip that has generated headlines over the last 24 hours. United are reportedly showing an interest in signing Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez. Spanish news outlet Sport have claimed that United are willing to offer Lopez a significantly improved contract in an effort to convince the 22-year-old to swap the Camp Nou for Old Trafford. United are also apparently prepared to make an offer worth €70million (£61million) to try and sign Lopez this summer. MEN Sport says: United being linked with a move for Lopez shows the club may be looking to add to their midfield options this summer. It remains to be seen if Barcelona would even be willing to let Lopez leave the club this month, but United's interest shows the club are certainly being ambitious in the transfer market. United are continuing to be linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani. The France international was on loan at Juventus for the second half of last season, and the Serie A giants were reported to be keen on re-signing the striker this summer. However, Le Parisien have claimed that a proposed move to Juve has stalled, giving clubs like United a chance to swoop in and secure a deal. It has been claimed that United are continuing to monitor Kolo Muani's future with a view to making a potential move. MEN Sport says: Kolo Muani has been linked with a move to United for several weeks, although Juventus have always been the favourites to sign the striker if he was to leave PSG this summer. If a move to Turin does fall through, it would not be a surprise to see United be in the running to get a deal over the line.
