For those who may not know, Raj Kaushal passed away suddenly on June 30, 2021, after suffering a heart attack. He and Mandira Bedi had been married since 1999 and shared a beautiful family. The couple welcomed their son Vir in 2011, and in 2020, their hearts grew even fuller when they adopted their daughter Tara, who was four at the time.
Raj was a filmmaker best known for directing films like Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Shaadi Ke Laddoo. His passing was a huge loss, not just to his family, but also to the film industry and the many lives he touched.
Earlier this year on Valentine’s Day, Mandira had shared another emotional tribute to her late husband. She posted a short video that began with the words “Happy anniversary Raj,” followed by a nostalgic throwback from their wedding day. In the caption, she wrote, “We would have been married 26 years today..Miss you #raji .. #happyvalentinesday.” It was a simple yet deeply moving reminder of their bond.
Professionally, Mandira has had quite a journey. She broke barriers as one of the first female cricket presenters in India, anchoring ICC World Cups in 2003 and 2007. She shot to fame with her role in Shanti and later appeared in hit shows like Dushman, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. In films, she’s been seen in The Tashkent Files, Saaho, and more recently, the 2023 Netflix series The Railway Men, where she starred alongside R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu, and Babil Khan.
