When Shauna McIntyre was in her teens, she’d spend weekends on the golf course in Rathfarnham, Dublin, either with her parents or her one other friend who enjoyed the sport, Stephanie Glennon.
“We used to laugh, ‘Well, we know we’ll be first or second in the girls’ competition today anyway,’ because we were the only two playing,” says 28-year-old McIntyre, who together with Glennon co-founded the women’s clothing brand AWGO Golf. “Now we have a group chat with 15 girls our age that we play with regularly, and in our club, there’s even more than that.”
