Richards Bay FC beat TS Galaxy 1-nil in a Betway Premiership match in Atteridgeville on Sunday afternoon. 20-year-old Lindokuhle Zikhali scored the only goal of the clash early in the second half. Both teams had several opportunities to score in the first half but squandered their chances. On home turf, TS Galaxy looked more confident than the visitors. In the second half, the team from KwaZulu-Natal seemed to play with more confidence. Just five minutes after play resumed, Zikhali netted a beautiful goal to put his team in the lead. But the young midfielder was forced off the field after receiving another yellow card following a tackle on Thami Masiya of TS Galaxy. The hosts tried their best to find the back of the net, but the Ugandan shot stopper, Salim Magoola was too good. Richards Bay won the clash 1-nil, much to the delight of their coaching team. “I think coming to today’s game the plan was to come here even if we get a point we would’ve been happy, but we managed to steal away the three points and I think the group played fantastically well today with the numerous scoring chances we cleared in the first half like four open chances. We could’ve taken the lead first half, but we said to the boys at halftime, keep playing, keep getting into dangerous places, and the chance will come. And it presented itself and we took it and get ourselves the three points,” says Ronnie Gabriel, Richards Bay coach. TS Galaxy is now in fifth place with 34 points from 27 games played. Richards Bay are 11th, with 29 points from 26 games.
