Meghan Markle's Netflix crew reveal how she treated them and who she's really like off-camera

Netflix's crew has spilled the beans on what it was like to work with Meghan Markle, the star of With Love, Meghan. Despite the 43 year old ex-royal dividing audiences with her show—where some have criticised the former Suits actress for 'whittering on about nothing', even drawing shade from her own father who tagged her as "unauthentic"—the platform has given the green light for a second season.
While she chats away in her grandiose kitchen with celebs like Mandy Kaling, dishing out how-tos on making kimchi and "quickles", or the art of crafting clear ice cubes with the tip: "Don't use tap water or you won't see the edible flower...", word on the street was that Meghan could be a tough cookie to collaborate with.
However, lighting up the behind-the-scenes narrative, one Netflix team member gushed about how Prince Harry's partner ensured that everyone from top brass to runners felt valued. This unnamed individual detailed to People how Meghan set up a coffee joint for the morning rush and surprised them with sweet treats like ice-cream and shaved ice, noting: "She made sure everyone felt included, from Netflix executives to our director to every PA on set. No one was left out."
The same staffer elaborated on their experience: "Most of the time, we're expected to fade into the background, to be invisible. But in this show, we were part of it. We were included. It was a very unique and refreshing experience."
Meghan opened up about her experience working on the show, saying to the publication, "It feels as though we're just spending time together, which is what it ended up being. "I'd make a recipe and say, 'Everyone try this,' and there are certain dishes where you just watch everyone flock in. I'd say, 'We've run out of spoons!, reports the Mirror.
In a candid interview with The Mail, Thomas Markle was quite direct about Meghan's Netflix series. "Unfortunately, Meghan has never been authentic. She has to think about everything. She's not spontaneous," he declared, implying his daughter meticulously orchestrates her actions.
He elaborated: "Everything she says is pre-planned and rehearsed. It makes me laugh because I know all her looks and expressions. I know when she's faking it for the cameras. She's trying so hard to be perfect that she tenses up every time the camera is on her."
Despite harbouring a group of devoted fans who are enamoured with her lifestyle show, Meghan has faced accusations of mistreating staff during her time as a senior working royal. The Duchess of Sussex has refuted claims of bullying, originally brought forth by ex-royal aide Jason Knauf four years prior, who alleged that she brought staffers to tears while at Kensington Palace.
Yet, some of Meghan's crew have defended her staunchly, with one insider revealing to Us Weekly that Harry and Meghan were the "best bosses I have ever had".
