Min Woo Lee's charge up the Houston Open leaderboard has been stopped by a thunderstorm after world No.1 Scottie Scheffler powered to a second-round 62.
Australian Lee, starting at four-under, dropped a shot on his first hole but fired back with four birdies in his next five chances at Memorial Park Golf Course on Friday (Saturday AEDT).
He nailed his approach to the par-three seventh and was eyeing another birdie when the horn sounded to stop play with thunderstorms circling.
Lee (seven-under), in his last event before the Masters from April 10, will hope the expected strong winds don't eventuate when play resumes.
World No.1 and defending Masters champion Scheffler was already sitting snug in the clubhouse after an early-morning 62 to equal the course record he already shared.
The world's best player had it on a string, pairing four birdies on the front and back nine in a pre-Masters statement.
It was the American's second-straight bogey-free round as he surged to 11-under, one clear of Canadian Taylor Pendrith, who had back-to-back rounds of 65.
Australian Jason Day (66) moved into the reckoning at four under while Karl Vilips (two under) was even through six holes.
Aaron Baddeley was a shot outside the projected cut line at one under through five holes.
