Monterrey powered their way into the Club World Cup knockout stage with a dominant 4–0 victory over the Urawa Red Diamonds on Wednesday night. After playing back-to-back draws to River Plate and Inter Milan, the Liga MX side surged ahead in Group E, finishing second behind Inter and earning a round-of-16 date with Borussia Dortmund next Tuesday in Atlanta.The floodgates opened in the 30th minute when Nelson Deossa unleashed a 35-yard screamer that eluded Urawa goalkeeper Shusaku Nishikawa.
