Former justice minister Yvonne Dausab says the country will continue to support the struggle for human rights, especially to countries that are subjected to “bullying tactics” and “intimidation”.
Dausab said this on Monday during the Open Society Foundation (OSF) and Action Coalition-Namibia’s high-level meeting and panel discussion in Windhoek, themed ‘Understanding Namibia: The Land of the Brave’.
“Namibia will continue to support the struggle for human rights not selectively for Cuba, Palestine and I think we must increase our volume for our support of South Sudan and what is happening there,” she said.
Dausab said this during the session exploring Namibia’s leadership in the area of international justice and exchanging views and experiences with legal experts who have taken on cases at the International Court of Justice.
