Maria David THE Brave Warriors and Brave Gladiators, Namibia’s senior national football teams, have received a significant boost in the form of new kits, generously handed over by Tim Ekandjo. The comprehensive kit package, valued at N$485,000, includes official playing attire for both outfield players and goalkeepers, as well as step-out gear, golf T-shirts, casual vests, various shorts, multi-colour bibs, training kits, tracksuits, player bags, and branded sneakers. Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ekandjo expressed his delight in providing the new attire, emphasizing that the two national teams had previously been sharing kits due to a lack of sufficient supplies. He voiced his hope that the fresh kits would not only encourage and inspire the players but also boost their morale and confidence as they take to the field. “It gives me great pleasure to hand over brand-new soccer kits to our senior national soccer teams, the Brave Warriors and the Brave Gladiators,” he said. He added that it is his desire that the new kit will encourage and inspire the players to do their best on the pitch. Ekandjo also highlighted the Brave Warriors’ current strong position as second in their World Cup group, expressing optimism that with motivation, they stand a good chance of making history by qualifying for the prestigious tournament for the first time. He stressed the collective responsibility of contributing to nation-building, expressing his sincere hope that the new kits would uplift both the players and the fans, inspiring even better performances. Ekandjo indicated that the donated kit is designed to ensure uniformity among all players, both on and off the field, fostering team spirit and a strong sense of national identity. He also announced that replicas of the new kits will soon be available on demand, offering the public an opportunity to show their solidarity and support for the national teams by purchasing them.
