The latest flood news
For anyone seeking information on the terrible floods affecting parts of NSW, here is the Herald’s live coverage.

The Enhanced Games
The return of Enhanced Games chatter this week reopened a massive can of worms. We had James Magnussen’s declaration of the performance-enhancing drugs he was taking and how it would be all worth it if he bagged a $1 million prize for being the first competitor to set a world record. Well, the ink was barely dry on those words before a swimmer from Greece beat him to it.
Then came a line of strong questioning from Peter FitzSimons.
James, James, James. I reckon I speak on behalf of most of the nation when I say ... WTAF? What are you doing?
Fitting questions, indeed.

Never rule out the Bulldogs
In the last two weeks, Canterbury have trailed 20-0 (to Canberra) and 14-0 (to the Roosters) and won both times. Both matches had Dogs fans thinking a second loss was on the way before a pair of flying finishes sent them home happy. Surely, coach Cameron Ciraldo and his players have no intention of needing another such escape tonight.
If they do make it three such efforts in a row, fans, players, and club staff could be excused for humming this tune over the weekend.

Big day for Big Ange
In a quick detour from the 13-a-side game to the world game, it was a massive morning for Australian soccer in Spain as Ange Postecoglou-manage Tottenham Hotspur scored a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final. Ange-love has been everywhere today, including this from Vince Rugari.

Who’s missing tonight?
Stephen Crichton, Max King and Kurt Mann are involved in Origin. Crichton and King are in the NSW 17, while Mann is a reserve for Queensland.
In injury-enforced changes, Daniel Suluka-Fifita (concussion) and Jacob Kiraz (calf) are also absent.
The men coming into the starting side are Blake Wilson (wing), Blake Taaffe (centre), Sam Hughes (prop) and Bailey Hayward (lock).
Just the two changes for the visitors from last week with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow (Origin) and Tom Gilbert (pectoral) missing out on what looms as a wet night.
Jake Averillo goes from centre to fullback, Max Feagai is in the centres, Oryn Keeley as an edge forward and Ray Stone was named in the number 13 jersey.
Joey on the King
To say that I was surprised by Max King’s selection for his Origin debut is an understatement. I was nothing short of shocked. But the more I thought about it, the more I understood Laurie Daley’s thinking.

Latest Galvin news: Tigers set transfer fee
Another hurdle that needed to be cleared for Lachlan Galvin to leave Wests Tigers sooner rather than later has been cleared. A transfer fee of $165,000 going the way of the joint venture club will take place before the papers are signed.
