14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. The cricketer from Bihar was signed for Rs 1.10 crore in the mega auction last year, and he made his IPL debut for the Jaipur-based franchise on April 19, 2025, against the Lucknow Super Giants.
In the match played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Vaibhav came in as an impact player during the second half of the match and opened his account with a first-ball six off Shardul Thakur’s bowling. After making headlines for his rocking start in the world’s richest franchise cricket league, the left-handed batter broke multiple batting records on Monday, April 28, during his third IPL match of the ongoing season for RR.
In the match played at SMS Stadium in Jaipur against Gujarat Titans, Suryavanshi scored 101 runs from 38 balls with the help of seven fours and 11 sixes. During his stay at the crease, he crossed the 100-run mark in just 35 balls, which helped him become the fastest Indian and the youngest batter in IPL history to score a century.
His super show with the bat helped the Royals chase down the target of 210 runs in just 15.5 overs for the loss of two wickets and keep alive their slim chances of qualifying for the playoffs.
After Suryavanshi, who is the youngest cricketer to make an IPL debut, made headlines for his super show with the bat, a four-year-old video of him doing batting practice on the terrace of his house in Bihar is going viral on the internet. In the viral clip, the youngster can be seen doing knocking practice.

Vaibhav, since breaking into the scene, has made headlines for his batting, but on Monday, his record-breaking show helped him take his popularity to an altogether next level. The youngster, who got a chance to make his IPL debut due to an unfortunate injury to Sanju Samson, showed everyone that he is ready to play at the highest level. In the match against GT, he hammered senior Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma for 26 runs in an over and Afghanistan all-rounder Karim Janat for 30 runs in one over.
